The excavations at Amheida, Egypt are carried out by New York University with partner Columbia University. The project studies the interaction between human settlement and the environment in the Dakhleh Oasis. The excavations have focused on houses with wall paintings, a Roman bath complex, and a temple hill with remains that include the Temple of Thoth. Amongst other structures, conservation work has helped protect the pyramid and the tower tomb.
