Marcelino Valderamma, the director of Formas, first introduced me to Caral in 2005 and has continued to be a driving force to promote understanding of this earliest civilization. Without Marcelino’s support, there would have been no first book and Caral would not now have a comprehensive photographic survey. He continues to provide the finest guidance.
